The Best Food Trucks You Can Find at Minneapolis Breweries
Nothing improves a night out with friends and a few local pints more than great food pairings. And while there’s a time and place for fine dining, food truck fare and more casual menus just hit the spot when it comes to beer crawls. Luckily, Minneapolis breweries are now the best places to reliably find these mobile kitchens, and you can feel great knowing you’re supporting start-up chefs and sating your appetite at the same time.
Here are some of Minneapolis’s best food trucks, offering everything from barbecue to tacos, and some tips on which breweries to find them.
Animales Barbeque Company at Bauhaus Brew Labs
Great barbecue isn’t exactly as simple as knowing your ABC’s, but Animales Barbecue Company’s Jon Wipfli makes it look easy with delicious brisket, ribs, and pork pastrami sandwiches served up every Wednesday through Saturday. The most popular menu items tend to sell out, so grab your Bauhaus beers and birria tacos early, and enjoy the evening from the plentiful picnic tables. (You can also grab a scoop or two from nearby MN Nice Cream next door to make it the ultimate night out in Northeast.)
OG ZaZa at HeadFlyer Brewing
Pair your favorite HeadFlyer beer with a handcrafted pizza from OG ZaZa. Order from a QR code at your table, and you'll get a text when your pie is ready. On Mondays and Tuesdays take advantage of a pizza and beer combo: enjoy your choice of pizza and any tap pour for $18.
Hodgepodge at Forgotten Star Brewing
Forgotten Star's resident food truck, Hodgepodge, serves Midwest-inspired food. Order satisfying burgers, healthy(ish) appetizers and sides to share! They even recommend Forgotten Star tap pairings for each menu item. Kids will love the soft-serve machine! Hodgepodge is open every day except Wednesdays, and you'll find rotating food trucks instead.
Rotating Food Trucks at 56 Brewing
Peep the menu of events and food truck pop ups at this Northeast brewery for a wild range of flavors, like Sweet Lou's for really good brats and sausage and Amazing Momo's, which specializes in Tibetan dumplings (AKA momos), noodles, bowls and more. Surly Food Truck at Surly Brewing
Minneapolis beer institution Surly nailed the brewery game so well, they decided to branch out into the food truck biz with stellar results. Every Thursday through Saturday, dig into double-patty burgers, smoked prime rib Philly cheesesteaks, and boar bratwurst as you soak in the suds and sun in Surly’s epic beer garden.
Pizzeria Lola at Indeed Brewing Company
Ann Kim’s Pizzeria Lola dishes out wood-fired pizzas and other shareables in the Beeryard at Indeed Brewing Co. every day of the week!
Market BBQ, Bad Rooster, and More Utepils Brewing
Utepils' Beer Garden is what al fresco drinking dreams are made of. Umbrella-covered tables, lawn chairs under mature trees, friendly dogs (and their people), strings of café lights, and frequent live shows from local musicians. The vibes are enhanced by a regular rotation of excellent food trucks, like Market BBQ, Bad Rooster, and British hand pies from Potter’s Pasties. Check out the taproom events calendar to find out who’s cooking dinner!
Local Food Trucks at Inbound Brew Co.
Plan your night out according to your tastes: Wha' Jamaican, tacos from El Jefe, an award-winning burger from Parlour, and brats from Gerhad's Brats. They have a food truck calendar that's great for planning ahead.
Rotating Food Trucks at Venn Brewing
Venn Brewing hosts several food trucks throughout the months. They celebrate Nacho Mondays with La Tortilla Lunes (find vegan options here) and Taco Tuesdays with El Taqueria Patron. Brick Oven Bus serves wood-fired pizza, and Angry Line Cook specializes in smash burgers.
