Accessibility Statement
Meet Minneapolis is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors. We believe everyone should be able to easily access information about our city and plan their experience with confidence. We are continuously working to improve the usability and accessibility of our websites—including Minneapolis.org, the Minneapolis Convention Center website, and Sports Minneapolis website—to serve the widest possible audience.
Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines define how to make digital content more accessible for people with a wide range of abilities and assistive technologies. Our efforts are ongoing, and accessibility is an integral part of how we design, develop, and maintain our digital experiences.
Our Approach
To support accessibility across our digital platforms, Meet Minneapolis:
- Integrates accessibility into our design, development, and content processes
- Provides guidance and training to staff and partners who contribute content
- Regularly audits our websites using automated and manual testing tools
- Partners with Siteimprove to monitor performance, identify issues, and prioritize improvements
- Works to ensure new content meets accessibility standards from the start
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Meet Minneapolis is actively working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance across our websites.
While we strive to ensure all content is accessible, some areas of our websites may not yet fully meet these standards. We are committed to identifying and addressing these gaps as part of our ongoing improvement process.
Third-Party and Partner Content
Some areas of our websites—including event listings, partner-submitted content, or embedded third-party tools—may be outside of our direct control. While we provide guidance and encourage accessibility best practices, we cannot guarantee full compliance for all third-party content. If you encounter an issue, we will work with our partners to improve accessibility wherever possible.
Compatibility
Our websites are designed to be compatible with modern browsers and commonly used assistive technologies, including screen readers and keyboard navigation. We aim to support a wide range of devices and user needs.
Known incompatibilities:
Minneapolis.org is not compatible with any version of Internet Explorer, as well as older versions of other browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, may not fully support all features of this website. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest version to ensure the best experience.
