Often called “Best Days of Summer,” the Minneapolis Aquatennial will return July 18-21, 2018 with a jam-packed schedule of events.
What is it?
The Minneapolis Aquatennial originated in 1940 as an annual multi-day outdoor event celebrating the city's famous lakes, streams and rivers. Known to many as The Best Days of Summer, events include a parade, marathons, performances, like music, special festivities and of course, water activities like canoeing and a water ski show.
Downtown this weekend? Might as well make the most of it!
It's a weekend of festivities in Minneapolis! Stop by US Bank Stadium on Thursday for the X Games X Fest (free to the public!) and buy your tickets now for 2018's competitions and music. Looking for a way to wind down at the end of the weekend? Bring your family and friends to the free ice cream social during Sister Cities Day, an annual event celebrating our Sister Cities program and the connections it creates locally and internationally.
To make the most out of your Aquatennial experience, don't worry about driving home. Make a weekend out of it! It's more fun when you sleep over (we promise). Be sure to check out the best hotel deals plus summer events and things to do during your weekend getaway.
