2019 Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin Season

Hennepin Theatre Trust is bringing a Tony Award®-winning lineup for the 2019 – 2020 Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin season. This year will featuring eight Minnesota premieres and three favorites returning by popular demand.

Broadway’s most exciting shows are coming to the historic Orpheum Theatre and they include a mix of highly anticipated brand new productions and returning classics. Check out what's coming to Minneapolis this season!

RENT: August 14 - 18, 2019

Kicking off the new season is the musical that changed the landscape of American musical theatre. This Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning masterpiece returns to the stage in a vibrant 20th anniversary touring production. A re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out.

Mean Girls: October 1 - 13, 2019

Direct from Broadway, Mean Girls, the hilarious hit musical from an award-winning creative team, will play for two weeks. It tells the story of a naïve newbie who falls prey to a trio of lionized frenemies.

The Phantom of the Opera: November 20 - December 1, 2019

The Phantom of the Opera triumphantly returns for two spectacular weeks. The beloved story and thrilling score will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this Phantom one of the largest productions now on tour.

The Band's Visit: December 17 - 22, 2019

Jesus Christ Superstar: January 21 - 26, 2020

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Jesus Christ Superstar, the iconic musical phenomenon from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice that changed the world, is reinvented with fresh inspiration.
