Samara Joy with the Minnesota Orchestra

Samara Joy brings her supple, tradition-minded jazz vocals to the stage with the Minnesota Orchestra. The Bronx-born singer won the 2023 Grammy for Best New Artist, alongside Best Jazz Vocal Album for Linger Awhile; she later earned another Jazz Vocal Album Grammy for A Joyful Holiday. Her approach pairs a deep feel for classic jazz singing with the phrasing and improvisational instincts of a young bandleader, making this Orchestra Hall performance a meeting of vocalist and symphony orchestra.
