Pink Martini

Pink Martini’s “little orchestra,” founded by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in Portland, brings together a dozen musicians for a cosmopolitan sound shaped by jazz, classical music, big-band pop and influences from around the world. Its repertoire spans more than 25 languages, giving the ensemble a distinctive scope beyond its polished, retro-pop style. The 1997 debut Sympathique introduced the title song, which earned a French Victoires de la Musique nomination; later albums include Hang On Little Tomato and Hey Eugene!.
