Phillip Phillips
Phillip Phillips emerged as a distinctive American Idol winner, bringing an earthy voice and inventive, guitar-driven arrangements rather than the show’s usual big-pop style. His coronation song, “Home,” became a breakout hit and was used as the theme song for the U.S. women’s gymnastics team at the 2012 London Olympics. “Gone, Gone, Gone” helped propel his debut album, The World from the Side of the Moon, to platinum certification; later albums include Behind the Light and Drift Back.
