Pert Near Sandstone

With acoustic guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle and clawhammer banjo, Minnesota’s Pert Near Sandstone brings old-time string-band roots into original songs shaped by contemporary songwriting. The group has helped build the region’s roots-music community, co-founding and curating Blue Ox Music Festival, and its Beatles cover “I Am the Walrus” became a local radio hit. Albums including Paradise Hop, Waiting Days and Side by Side trace the band’s evolving take on bluegrass and Americana.
