Night Moves

Minneapolis band Night Moves pairs hazy, psychedelic rock with melodic songwriting and a fondness for the glow of ’70s soft rock. Singer-guitarist John Pelant and bassist Micky Alfano began making music together in high school before forming the band in 2009. Their Domino Records debut, Colored Emotions, introduced the group’s layered sound; later albums include Pennied Days and Can You Really Find Me. Songs such as “Carl Sagan,” “Denise, Don’t Wanna See You Cry” and “Strands Align” offer a taste of their atmospheric, carefully arranged approach.
