Minnesota Orchestra - The Musical Tales of Hans Christian Andersen

Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales take on an orchestral dimension in this family concert, with the Minnesota Orchestra and Music Director Thomas Søndergård shaping musical soundscapes around the Danish storyteller’s classic stories. The relaxed, hour-long program is designed for all ages, including people with autism or sensory sensitivities. The orchestra, founded in 1903 as the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, has built a distinguished recording history, including a Grammy-winning Sibelius album featuring the First and Fourth Symphonies.
