Minnesota Orchestra - Brahms, Prokofiev and Tabakova

Founded in 1903 as the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra has built a century-long reputation through performances, broadcasts and acclaimed recordings. Its distinctive recording legacy ranges from the Mercury Living Presence albums of the 1950s—including a celebrated Tchaikovsky “1812 Overture” recorded with real cannon fire—to its Grammy-winning Sibelius symphonies with conductor Osmo Vänskä. Today, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård leads the ensemble, which continues to pair familiar orchestral repertoire with new music.
