Grover Washington Jr. was a legendary jazz-funk and soul-jazz saxophonist and Grammy Award winner. He is considered by many to be one of the founders of the smooth jazz genre. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Washington made some of the genre’s most memorable hits. There, these include “Mister Magic”, “Reed Seed”, “Black Frost”, “Winelight”, and “Inner City Blues”. Additionally, “Let it Flow (For ‘Dr. J’)” and “The Best is Yet to Come”.
Bill Withers was an American singer-songwriter, known for his soulful voice. Also, he wrote legendary hits like “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Lean on Me,” and “Lovely Day.” There, Withers was born in a small West Virginia coal-mining town, Then, he served in the Navy before launching his music career in the 1970s. Despite a relatively short period of active recording (1970-1985), his influence on soul and R&B music is profound and enduring.
