Holiday markets, tree lightings, specialty shops and plenty of hot chocolate will make your holiday season sparkle.

Minneapolis Holiday Boutique

The Minneapolis Holiday Boutique will be at U.S. Bank Stadium Friday, November 8 – Sunday, November 10, 2019. Stroll through the festival of neatly decorated trees, dazzled up with lights and available for sale via silent auction. Get ready to shop local boutiques, seasonal delights, stunning art pieces, craft vendors and more. Hey ladies! Friday night from 5 – 9pm it’s ladies night out! Enjoy music, drinks and prizes!


This highly anticipated annual holiday festival is back Thursdays through Sundays, November 29 – December 22, 2019. Walk the path and enjoy holiday lights and decorations, local food vendors, and artisan goods. Then warm up with a hot chocolate or cider, or head to the beer tent to grab a Fulton brew!

Tree Lighting Ceremony at West 50th Street

On Saturday, November 30, 2019, 50th & France will celebrate local businesses and holiday festivities at their Small Business Saturday event including a Tree Lighting Ceremony and Winter Market. Shop for gifts and specialty items from local vendors while the kiddos are entertained by College Nannies! They can make snow globes, paint reindeers, play games, make holiday cards and decorate cookies while you peruse artisan shops.  Afterwards, listen to holiday carolers and let the little ones visit with Santa. The official tree lighting will be at 5pm.

Holiday Tree Lighting at Union Depot

See the sparkle of the lights at the fourth annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, December 6, 2019. The event will begin at 6:00pm. Enjoy complimentary entertainment and holiday activities. At 6:30pm, head outside for the official tree lighting celebration followed by a fireworks display. Afterwards, stick around for the holiday movie night – they’re playing not one but TWO great holiday movies -  Elf followed by Polar Express!

CSE Winter Light Show

The CSE Winter Light Show is a student-designed 3D outdoor experience at the Civil Engineering Building featuring more than 250,000 LED lights set to music written and recorded by University of Minnesota students. Now in its ninth year, the CSE Winter Light Show has become an annual campus tradition. This year's show features new light installations, including two new signs, 10 two-foot lighted snowflakes, several lighted trees, and new music. Shows are Thursday, December 5, Friday, December 6, Saturday, December 7, and Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 5:30, 6, and 6:30 p.m. The show will last about 20 minutes.

European Christmas Market

The European Christmas Market in St. Paul is a free event based on the traditional, charming, and festive open-air Christkindlmarkts that spring up in Germany, Austria, and other countries during the Advent season. Shop for unique, handmade holiday gifts and decorations from local vendors, drink Glühwein (spiced mulled wine), and taste European inspired food and delicacies during the first three weekends in December.

Festive Holiday Lights Tour

Treat yourself to the magic of the holidays by viewing beautiful light displays on this 2 hour tour! Your expert guide will escort you to your warm, heated coach bus where you’ll ride in comfort while viewing twinkling lights and nibbling on holiday treats. We’ll have music, we’ll have games, we’ll have fun for the whole family! We may even have an ugly sweater or two! (Feel free to wear your own! We know you have one!) The brightly decorated streets of the Twin Cities are sure to get you in the spirit of the season – so please join us for some festive fun! Sundays during November, and Thursday - Sunday for the whole month of December at 5:30pm and 7:00pm.

Holiday of Lights Tours

Take a tour of the holiday lights around town from the comfort of a limousine with Total Transportation. A chauffeur will take you to the most spectacular lights in town while playing cheerful holiday music. Prefer to customize? No problem. Let your driver know where you’d like to tour, and feel free to bring your own selection of music. Tours start the second week of December.
