Fruit Bats

Fruit Bats is the long-running indie-rock project of singer-songwriter Eric D. Johnson, whose observant writing turns memories, relationships and places into warm, finely shaped songs. Across more than two decades, the project has moved from lo-fi beginnings toward expansive, full-band arrangements. “When U Love Somebody” and “Humbug Mountain Song” are standout entries in its catalog; later albums include The Pet Parade and A River Running to Your Heart. In 2026, Johnson continued the story with The Landfill, pairing open-hearted songwriting with a full-band sound.
