Best Spots for Food Near the Basilica Block Party
Mark your calendars for the Basilica Block Party on September 10 & 11, 2021! The two-day music festival is held on the lovely front steps of the Basilica of St. Mary.
To satisfy your way-finding needs, we’ve compiled a list of all the best restaurants within walking distance of the Basilica. Before or after the party fill up on these great Minneapolis eats.

Best Lunch Spots
Located at the Walker Arts Center, Cardamom is the new restaurant by Chefs/restaurateurs Daniel del Prado and Shawn McKenzie. It has the perfect scenic spot if your the outdoor patio type. The menu is filled with cuisine options influenced by the Aegean and Mediterranean seas to keep you energized throughout the festival.
Eli's Food and Cocktail has all the classics, including soups and sandwiches for a perfect casual lunch. The atmosphere here is very relaxed so you can rest up a bit before hitting up the block party.
Maybe you need a little caffeine to get you going for a night of dancing and jamming out to your favorite artists. Well, Zoe's is the perfect spot for you. Grab a specialty coffee drink, some pastries and a light sandwich at this cute little cafe and bakery.
Big fan of breakfast? Then you'll want to make a stop at Eggy's Diner which servers all-day breakfast items. And if you're ready to move on to lunch, they've got a menu for that too!

A trip to Minneapolis just wouldn’t be the same without experiencing our incredible craft beer scene. Luckily, Lakes and Legends is only a few blocks away so you can dive right in whenever the mood strikes. The beer is incredible, the space is beautiful, and they even offer games. It’s the perfect hangout spot to relax and have a couple brews before the block party!
Another great Minneapolis brewery, Sisyphus, offers several unique flavors. Try their Banana Boss, Peanut Butter Stout or Is That A Cucumber In Your Pils? They often have food trucks, or you can bring in your own food!
Located in the Hyatt Regency, Prairie Kitchen and Bar is the perfect spot for cocktails, locally sourced bites, and a fantastic atmosphere with a 360 degree bar and great views of Nicollet, the Minneapolis main street. Also be sure to check out their patio!
Taking the place of the old Butcher & the Boar location, The Butcher's Tale brings back some of the fresh approaches to artisanal meats, such as hand-crafted sausages and slow-fired long rib and an array of the region’s best bourbons and brown spirits. Step outside and hang out at their beer garden for one of the best patios downtown.

Put this foodie hot spot on your list! The trendy, urban eatery has both a café for a fabulous sit-down dinner, and a bar for hanging out with a couple of craft cocktails. Indulge in upscale American comfort food and wash it down with a cold beverage.
Looking for a little more flavor before you head out to see your favorite band? Dancing Ganesha is an Indian restaurant with all the authentic favorites. Naan, Tandoori, Biryani, you'll find them all here to help give you a little energy before the party starts.
If you want to fancy up your dinner plans, head over to P.S. Steak. The menu here includes variety cuts of meats and shellfish as well as refreshing and sophisticated cocktails. Sit in the modern, chic lounge area with marble table tops or the classy steakhouse/bar area for an elegant experience.

Be sure to take some time to unwind and release all that Block Party energy on it's unique outdoor rooftop space.
What tastes better for a round of late night snacks than some American classics? We're talking about cheese curds, wings, mac and cheese and of course hot dogs. The Bulldog is open late and pairs these favorites with a glass of Belgium Beer.
