The 15th annual 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is a video contest in which kid filmmakers create weird movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books in about 90 seconds. Every year, the best movies are shown at gala screenings all over the country—co-hosted by founder/author James Kennedy and other great children’s authors—-in New York, Chicago, Boston, San Antonio, and many more cities. Mr. Kennedy's Minneapolis co-host is Minnesota's own Jacqueline West, author of the NYT-bestselling middle grade series Books of Elsewhere and the forthcoming YA horror novel Black Point! At this year's event, you'll see the best submissions from Minnesota and around the country.
