We're one of the best dressed cities in the nation. Our secret? We're home to the country's trendiest discount retailer and the largest shopping complex in the country. Shopping in Minneapolis is unlike anywhere else in the country. But Target and the Mall of America are just the beginning of the story. Here, you'll find a combination of ambitious young designers, funky neighborhood boutiques, fabulous neighborhoods, major retailers and big malls. Downtown Minneapolis is home to Macy's, Nicollet Mall, Saks Off Fifth, Target's flagship store, Martin Patrick III Finnstyle, and dozens of other unique shop stops that offer everything. Eclectic, deal-oriented, chic, rustic, location-specific, flashy or reserved, our shops have everything for everyone.
Oh, and did we mention no sales tax on apparel and shoes?
You probably did not know you were into 'fiber art' until visiting this gallery/shop/library/all-around gem, writes the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The Textile Center is America's only national center for fiber art, encompassing weaving, quilting, knitting, sewing, dyeing, felting, needlework, lace making, basketry, beading, soft sculpture and multi-media pieces. The Textile Center provides resources such as classes for all ages and levels, exceptional fiber art exhibitions in four galleries, an artisan shop filled with handmade goods, professional-grade dye lab, and the country's largest circulating textile library. The Textile Center is located just steps from the Green Line Metro Light Rail and admission is free.
