Dayton's Holiday Market
The Dayton's Project brought the holiday spirit back to Nicollet Mall with it's annual Holiday Market. Running mid-November through the end of December, it's a sight to be seen, because each year, 100 local vendors fill the market with their unique products. It's a true one-stop-shop for holiday shopping.
Shop for the home cooks in your life from Here's the Deal Spice Co, a gourmet spice brand with eight chef-inspired blends. They have everything from a sweet and spicy wing blend to a zesty togarashi, great for ramen and stir fry. Those with a sweet tooth should check out North Mallow, maker of the best marshmallows around.
Food gifts aren't all you'll find at the market. Give the self-care buffs a scented soy candle and high-end soaps from a variety of vendors. Jewelry lovers will appreciate local brand Larissa Loden's quirky creations (the motto here is "jewelry made for baddies by baddies"), like loon earring studs or a butter hair claw clip. Also find traditional Native American gifts from Native Roots Trading Post. Shop beaded earrings, Native blankets, wild rice bundles, and more.
That's not all available of course — there's a fun, 40-year-old tradition called the Santa Bear! Each year, special-edition, collectible bears are released on Black Friday, and they're too cute to skip. Between the Santa Bears and Dayton's merch, pottery, puzzles, clothing and artwork, the Dayton's Holiday Market requires a lengthy visit to get the full experience. Plus, you'll want to come back each year simply for the market's nostalgic atmosphere that will get you into the holiday spirit.
Located at 700 Nicollet Mall, the Dayton's Holiday Market is usually open daily during the holiday season Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
