Get moving this winter by signing up for one of the many organized running events in Minneapolis! Whether you’re headed for the big 26.2 miles or you only signed up for that 5K for the beer, it’s no doubt that Minneapolis has a race for every type of runner. Minnesota Brewery Running Series

All spring & summer long!
Locations vary

Join us each week for a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at a different local brewery! Weave through the surrounding area at whatever pace you like, no matter what there’s a beer waiting for you at the finish line! All participants receive a FREE craft brew from the brewery and get to take home a collectors pint glass or seasonal swag item from the Brewery Running live music, food offerings, local vendors, and fun giveaways.

2019 5K Bee Run - Earth Day Fun Run/Walk/River Cleanup

Join a fun, family friendly event hosted by the Great River Coalition in partnership with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the National Park Service. All paid participants will receive a long-sleeved tech shirt. Cost is $35, $40 on race day. Kids 6 & under free. Prizes for best costumes! Please help with the River Cleanup, which starts at 9:30 a.m. Bags & gloves will be provided.

8th Annual Downtown Dash Presented

May 2nd, 2019
West River Parkway and through Downtown Minneapolis

Presented by AdvantageHealth, registration includes entrance into the race, an 8-week training program, post-race drinks and snacks, a Downtown Dash coffee much and a fun headband! A portion of proceeds will also to go the Wilderness Inquiry, a local non-profit that focuses on providing inclusive outdoor adventures for all.

PAWS For a Cause 5K

Boynton health services seeks to provide Animal Assisted Interactions (AAI)through their Pet Away Worry and Stres (PAWS) program to reduce stress in students and faculty at the University of Minnesota. On May 4th, the University of Minnesota Nursing student board is hosting a 5K run/walk to raise funds for PAWS program. The PAWS dogs will be joining us, so come stop by for some loving from some furry friends!

People for Parks 3rd Annual Root Beer Run

The Root Beer Run is open to all people from throughout the community who want to be active in our parks and who enjoy root beer with or without ice cream. Participants choose to run, walk, or stroll either a 1⁄2 mile or full mile and then receive root beer after they cross the finish line. 100% of all registration fees are donated to People for Parks, a Minneapolis nonprofit that sponsors programs and projects to enhance and promote our city’s parks.

Women Run the Twin Cities!

Voted one of the top races for women in the country, the Women Run the Cities is the premier women's race in all of Minnesota. The race features a 5K, 10K and 10 mile distances. It's an all women's affair, but all experience levels are welcome. You'll be at home if you are an experienced runner in your 100th race, or you're taking to the start line for the first time. Plus, enjoy a post-race brunch bar with your girlfriends to celebrate your morning!

CityTrail Loppet

Take a shuttle from Parade Stadium to the start area

The CityTrail Loppet is a point-to-point urban trail run. Both races start in downtown Robbinsdale, pass through Sochackie Park and Mary Hills Nature Center, go under Golden Valley Road, pass the 45th parallel, meander through Theodore Wirth Park, and go under Highway 55. From there the courses diverge – with the 10K heading southeast through Bryn Mawr Meadows and the 10-Mile heading towards the Chain of Lakes and Cedar Lake Park.

The two courses re-converge in the Cedar Lake Trail area before heading under Interstate 394 and into the Kenwood neighborhood. The race concludes with a grand finish at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and finish line festival including live music, food truck, and a Surly Beer Garden made possible by Lake & Irving.
