PRIOR LAKE – JANUARY 25, 2016 ­– Yanni, one of the most recognizable composers and performers of our time will perform in the Mystic Showroom at Mystic Lake Sunday, July 31, at 8 p.m.

Born Yiannis Chryssomallis, the boy who would one day become internationally known as Yanni spent his childhood in Kalamata, Greece, before coming to the Twin Cities to study psychology at the University of Minnesota. After touring regionally with Minneapolis-based rock group Chameleon, he moved to Los Angeles and embarked on his solo career.

Yanni has accumulated more than 40 platinum and gold albums, with international sales totaling over 25 million copies, including the 1997 double-platinum Tribute album, which sold more than a million copies within six weeks of its release, and 1994’s Live at the Acropolis, which has sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide. He has also earned Grammy nominations for his 1992 album Dare to Dream, and the 1993 follow-up, In My Time. For over two decades, Yanni has been one of the top global touring acts in the world entertaining over five million people.

Yanni’s new album, Sensuous Chill is being released worldwide January 29. The album features Yanni exploring new realms of sound and creativity inspired by his extensive world travels. His new PBS special, “Yanni – The Dream Concert – Live From the Great Pyramids of Egypt,” will air nationwide in March.
