in 2013 NBA Draft
Wolves Slotted into No. 9 Selection, Also to Select 26th (Memphis' Pick Via Houston);
Final Draft Order to be Determined with Draft Lottery on May 21
Minneapolis/St. Paul The Minnesota Timberwolves own two first-round selections in the 2013 NBA Draft, to be held on June 27, 2013 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. By way of their 31-51 regular season record, the Wolves are currently slotted into the No. 9 selection, with a 1.7% chance of attaining the first overall pick.
In addition, the Wolves will select 26th overall by virtue of Memphis losing a drawing with the Los Angeles Clippers today (the Clippers will select 25th). The Wolves acquired Memphis' first round pick from Houston on June 24, 2011. The final order of this year's Draft will be determined at the NBA Draft Lottery, which will be held Tuesday, May 21.
The Wolves will also have two second-round picks, the 52nd (Brooklyn's selection via New Orleans) and 59th (Oklahoma City's selection) overall draft choices.
The drawings were conducted earlier today in New York City by Jason Cahilly, NBA Executive Vice President, Strategy and Chief Financial Officer, and Dan Rube, NBA Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. The tiebreak process was overseen by Denise Pelli, a partner in the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.
