Wolves and WFTC Renew Television Partnership For 2012-13 NBA Season
My29, the Wolves' Exclusive Over-the-Air Broadcast Home, to Televise as Many as 25 Games in 2012-13
Minneapolis/St. Paul The Minnesota Timberwolves and WFTC My 29 today announced the two parties have reached an agreement to renew their television partnership for the upcoming 2012-13 NBA season. The Wolves over-the-air television schedule with WFTC My 29 may include as many as 25 regular-season games, all of which will be available in HD. The specific games to be broadcast will be announced at a later date.
"We are excited to be returning to My29 for our over-the-air partner" said Timberwolves President Chris Wright. "My29 has proved to have a strong commitment to local programming, and continues to be a great fit for our franchise. We are thrilled to be able to provide Wolves fans with even more opportunities to watch Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and the rest of our young team on television in what we expect to be a break-out season."
"We are very pleased to bring our viewers many of the Timberwolves games next year," said Carol Rueppel, WFTC Vice President and General Manager. "Our partnership with the team fits well with our stations ongoing commitment to quality local sports programming."
This will mark the second time WFTC My 29 has broadcasted Timberwolves games, having aired 12 games during the 2010-11 season. The partnership between the Wolves and WFTC My29 is part of an integrated marketing relationship that will include ticket promotions, in-arena promotions, community involvement and other promotional elements. In addition to WFTC My 29, Fox Sports Net North will televise 50 Wolves games during the 2012-13 season.
WTFC My29 is part of the FOX Television Stations group, one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 27 stations in 18 markets and covering nearly 37.21% of U.S. television homes.
