Minneapolis Holiday Market Sneak Peek:
The Nutcracker House
The Hoffmann Company brings customary holiday decorations that are produced in the Eastern region of Germany here to the Minneapolis Holiday Market. All the nutcrackers, smokers, pyramids and Schwibbogen are produced by traditional producers in Germany, which are famous for their century-old style of wooden crafts. Each nutcracker and smoker presents a special figure and has a different story to tell. Young and old will enjoy taking a look at these collectables.
Kartoffelhaus Potato Pancakes
One of the more unique food options at the Minneapolis Holiday Market is the potato pancake. These one-of-a-kind treats are made with potatoes, onions, eggs and flour and are fried up and topped with sour cream and green onions (or apple sauce). Christine Burbach and Karin Vanzyl, share a love for German Holiday Markets. They are both married to local chefs, who are passionate about bringing the traditional great-tasting German-style potato pancake to Minneapolis. Watch them prepare this specialty right here at the Minneapolis Holiday Market.
