VETERANS TO FLY FOR FREE ON VETERANS DAY AT A.C.E.S. FLIGHT SIMULATION, MALL OF AMERICA
Bloomington, Minn. (Nov. 7, 2011) - Veterans Day, this Friday, is also the seventh anniversary of A.C.E.S. Flight Simulation at Mall of America. A mom & pop business, owners Kristi and Michael Pohl want to show their appreciation for the service and sacrifices of veterans by letting them fly for free.
Each flight is for 30 minutes, plus a ten minute pre-flight training briefing. Veterans simply must provide some sort of documentation or evidence that they served in Americas armed forces. If no documentation of service exists, then its up to the veteran to convince owner Pohl he or she served. Pohl, a military historian, loves to hear veterans stories of service, in particular WWII veterans stories.
A.C.E.S. Flight Simulation features eight sophisticated flight simulators, which are duplicates of those used to train fighter pilots. Aircraft represented are the F-18 jet fighter, flown by the United State Navy and Marine Corps, and historic WWII fighters. Over 250 different WWII aircraft can be flown, including the P-51 Mustang, F4U Corsair and British Spitfire.
