SAINT PAUL, Minn. (November 30, 2015) – From macaroons to gluten-free cupcakes, Union Depot’s Waiting Room will be transformed into a one-stop shop for all of this season’s holiday baking needs on Saturday, December 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The third annual Holiday Bake Sale will showcase top bakeries from around the Twin Cities, hostess gift vendors and a sneak peek at Lowertown Pop, a Minnesota-made event set for spring.
Baking and cooking demonstrations by participating chefs - scheduled every 30 minutes - as well as musical performances will be offered. Food and drink pairing workshops will turn casual shoppers into holiday aficionados. Admission is $5 for adults and includes a free tote bag; seniors 55+ and kids under 12 are free. A commemorative holiday apron will be sold for $10 and includes one general admission, recipe cards from participating bakeries, one Bee Line Honey Bon Bon and a chance to win fun prizes.

For those in need of unique and locally crafted hostess gifts, a variety of vendors will be on hand. Goods ranging from salsa to handmade soaps will be offered by Blue Heron Soap Co., Double Take Salsa, Jamazing, Whistler Soda and Wild Country Maple.
New this year, attendees will also get a sneak peek at Lowertown Pop (coming to Union Depot April 2016). Lowertown Pop is a Minnesota pop-up market featuring local artisans and craftspeople, brewers, bakers, distillers, street performers, artists, and musicians. This is a special chance to shop 10 featured Lowertown Pop makers at the Holiday Bake Sale.
Proceeds from the Bake Sale benefit White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf.
