SAINT PAUL, Minn. (November 20, 2017) – From festive holiday baked goods to gourmet confections and holiday gifts, guests at the Fifth Annual Holiday Bake Sale at Union Depot will find an array of delectable bakery items and other goods when the Waiting Room is transformed into the popular event on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Holiday Bake Sale will showcase nearly 30 vendors, including many of the top bakeries from around the Twin Cities, and makers of smart hostess and holiday gift items, in a marketplace format. New this year will be a holiday cake walk sponsored by The Germanic American Institute. Every half hour, guests will be invited to participate. Prizes include handmade Old World German cakes and tortes.

Guests will enjoy baking and cooking demonstrations by participating chefs - scheduled every 30 minutes - as well as musical performances, and craft demonstrations. Radio hosts Alexis Thompson from myTalk 107.1 – Minneapolis/St. Paul and Staci from KS95 – St. Paul/Minneapolis will each lead an on-stage demonstration. “Our community is stronger from the welcoming work our great neighbors on the West Side have offered to immigrants and refugees for 120 years,” said Rafael Ortega, Ramsey County commissioner. “We are pleased with the opportunity to give back as Neighborhood House has been named the recipient of financial donations and non-perishable food items collected at the fifth annual Holiday Bake Sale at Union Depot.”

Admission is $5 for adults, with 100 percent of proceeds going to Neighborhood House. Seniors 60+ and kids under 12 are free. VIP admission is $10 and includes a commemorative bakery box that includes an oven mitt, recipe cards and coupons/offers from participating bakeries. This year’s participating bakeries include North Mallow, Potter’s Pasties, Bread Art, Curly Girlz Candy, Ink Sweets, Sarah Jane’s Bakery, and many more.
