Twin Cities In Motion Launches New Minnesota-Themed Event
Hot Dash 5K & 10 Mile, presented by Marathon Sports, set for March 7
St. Paul, Minn. December 2, 2014 Twin Cities In Motion (TCM), the organizers of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, has launched a new spring event: the Hot Dash 5K & 10 Mile, presented by Marathon Sports. The Minneapolis event expects its traditional Minnesota flavor including Minnesota-themed foods, beer, music, and a post-race party will draw runners of all abilities.
The event, set for Saturday, March 7, will replace TCMs 100% Irish for a Day races of the same distance.
Were excited to offer the Hot Dash to our runners, Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director Virginia Brophy Achman said. We think a Minnesota-themed event that celebrates the states qualities and traditions will be a fun way for people to be active outdoors in the early spring. Minnesota runners are a hardy bunch, and we thought they needed an event that celebrated that fact.
The inaugural Hot Dash will feature chip-timed 5K and 10 mile races, hot Minnesota-themed foods and Pearsons Nut Goodies, fire pits to warm runners and spectators up, and beer to cool them down. The event will also feature music and a post-race party as well as a lumberjack costume contest and a winter beard competition.
