Timberwolves Announce Plans for Monday Home Opener
Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced plans for the team’s 2015-16 season home opener. The Wolves will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, November 2, at Target Center at 7 pm. The day’s activities include a free breakfast in the skyway and a pregame video tribute to recently passed President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Flip Saunders.
Monday begins with the team hosting a free breakfast in the skyway of Mayo Clinic Square from 6-9 a.m. The breakfast includes free donuts and coffee as well as giveaways and a chance to win tickets to the game that evening.
Prior to tipoff Monday night, the Timberwolves will honor Saunders with a video tribute featuring many of Saunders’ friends, former colleagues, former teammates, coaches, and those in the basketball community.
The home opener also includes the unveiling of the commemorative patch the team will wear on their jerseys during the 2015-16 season in honor of Saunders. Additionally, the team will continue to wear a specially designed shooting shirt that says “WE,” symbolizing the togetherness of the team and organization. The team will wear the commemorative shooting shirts through the month of November.
The first 10,000 fans who enter the arena on Monday night will receive a 2015-16 Timberwolves schedule magnet. Target Center doors open at 5:30 p.m. for Timberwolves members, and 6 p.m. for the general public. Fans are also strongly encouraged to plan ahead with their travel to the arena in order to arrive early and be in their seats when the pregame video tribute begins.
