Join Chicago-based artist Theaster Gates for a discussion as part of See, Sit, Sup, Sip, Sing: Holding Court. The installationcreated by Gatesis on view now in the exhibition Radical Presence: Black Performance in Contemporary Art. Made up of tables, chairs, and desks salvaged from a now-closed public school on Chicagos South Side, this classroom-like scenario in the gallery is designed as an experience for learning created by the people assembled in and around it. Throughout the run of the exhibition, Holding Court is featuring a range of programs, including artist-led discussions, community-organized programs, high school and college group visits, and Walker staff meetingsall open to the public.
