The Salvation Army to kick off the holiday season at Mall of America with performances played on a 1,000-foot Earth Harp in the Rotunda

WHAT: The Salvation Army will kick off the holiday season with Rock the Red Kettle featuring performances by William Close on his 1,000-foot Earth Harp at Mall of America on Friday, November 22 in the Rotunda.
The Earth Harp will rest on a stage while the strings travel over the audience and attach to level 2 of the Rotunda, turning the largest event space in the Mall into an instrument.
The Earth Harp earned William Close a finalist slot in America’s Got Talent and was named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest playable stringed musical instrument.
The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign runs through Christmas Eve at varying locations in the Twin Cities, including Mall of America. The iconic kettles are responsible for bringing in more than $3 million of the Army’s $12 million Christmas goal in the Twin Cities this year.
