4th annual Great Midwest Rib Fest featuring nation's best rib cookers and free music all weekend

RETURNS TO MYSTIC LAKE JULY 28 – 30
PRIOR LAKE – APRIL 25, 2017 – Rounding out the summer’s top Twin Cities’ events will be The Great Midwest Rib Fest at Mystic Lake July 28 through 30. In its fourth year, the outdoor festival will feature ten of the nation’s best rib cookers and free concerts—all part of Mystic Lake’s Silver Anniversary Summer celebration.
Synonymous with summer is music and dancing in the open air. The Great Midwest Rib Fest has something for every music taste with free concerts each day. On Friday night, Blind Melon takes the stage at 6 p.m. with The Romantics following at 8 p.m. On Saturday night, Ann Wilson performs at 8 p.m. and additional free entertainment throughout the day will be announced soon. Country music lovers won’t want to miss Little Texas and Lonestar on Sunday.
The event runs Friday, July 28 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, July 29 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, July 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages. VIP packages are available and more information can be found soon at mysticlake.com/ribfest
Attendees have the opportunity to purchase ribs from the ten rib cookers and vote in the Best of the Fest people’s choice award. Professional culinary and media personalities will also be judging the same ribs and sauces served to the public, awarding thousands in cash prizes to the top rib cookers. Trophies will be distributed and the awarded rib cookers will have bragging rights for years.
Food and drink will also be available for purchase, including Kernel’s Sweet Corn, Ben & Jerry’s® Ice Cream, lemonade and margaritas. Those looking for a wild ride can saddle up on the mechanical hog. Riders must be 18+ and sign a waiver.
