Textile Center’s Holiday Gallery Shop
WHAT: Gifts are available in nearly every fiber art technique with choices including scarves, winter wear, jewelry, apparel, towels, blankets, vessels, wall art, and much more. 2017 featured artist is Penny Norman of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, showcasing her spectacular assortment of handmade ornaments, many made from upcycled wool sweaters!
2017 spotlight: Cultural Cloth: Artisan Textiles from Around the World
Cultural Cloth founders Mary Ann Wise and Jody Slocum bring a selection of their artisan made home decor and personal accessories from the women they represent in 23 countries around the world. Cultural Cloth is a social enterprise that empowers women artisans worldwide.
Hi res photos are available of exquisite merchandise and demonstrations of a wide variety of art techniques. Many local artists are represented and available to be interviewed.

11/4: Felt Fest – Needle felting demo by artist Penny Norman, wet felting trunk show by Carol Holmblad, a sale on Youth Fiber Art Guild wet felting kit, and a “felty” prize drawing every hour!
11/11: Yarn Fest – Artmaking demo, and sale on Youth Fiber Art Guild yarn painting and kumihimo kits.
11/18: Weave Fest – Sami jewelry demo and trunk show by artist Katherine Buenger, and a sale on Youth Fiber Art Guild weaving kit.
11/24: Black/Plaid Friday Fiber Fest - Blend Your Own: Puni-style rolag with artist Nancy Bohn and “Batt Bar” with artist Susan Hensel, also demonstrating spinning. Sale on Youth Fiber Art Guild drop spindle kit.
11/25: Small Business Saturday Stitch Fest – Free transportation on the Green Line light rail all day! Stitching demonstrations and artist Nina Martine Robinson.
12/2: Members Day - Textile Center Members receive a 15% discount today!
Needle felted birds demo with artist and machine embroidered patches demo with artist. Prize drawings every hour from 11 am – 4 pm.
12/9: Dye Fest - Fabric paint demo by artist Susan Stein, and visits to onsite marbling class with Shop artist Heather RJ Fletcher.
12/16: Youth Artist Fest – featuring “The Little Clay Baker” Zoe Marchand, and young fiber artist Johanna Nassif and others.
