Shopcicle Monthly Pop-Up Marketplace at Union Depot to Launch September 20 with Rotating Roster of Minnesota Makers

SAINT PAUL, Minn. (August 23, 2018) –– Shopcicle, a monthly social-hour pop-up marketplace, will launch Thursday, September 20 at Union Depot in Lowertown. The event is the brainchild of Becky Sturm, organizer of the MN Christmas Market, Lowertown Pop, and numerous other pop-up markets, and owner of StormSister Spatique®. Union Depot Bar & Grill, the new restaurant at Union Depot, will participate by offering its Happy Hour menu through the entire event, and the restaurant’s mixologist will craft a Shopcicle specialty cocktail that will be featured during the marketplace.
The events will take place in the Head House on the third Thursday of the month from 3:00-8:30 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to shop an array of beautiful, unique brands, and support local makers and the event charitable partner, The Arc Minnesota, while enjoying a bite and sip at the popular restaurant.
The collection of makers that comprise the Shopcicle roster each month will be curated around a specific theme including Food and Beverage, Woman Makers, Philanthropic Makers, and Emerging Products and Brands. Each event will feature approximately 20 makers.
The Shopcicle event will give back to the community with seven percent of market sales and participant booth fees being donated to local nonprofit The Arc Minnesota. The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, actively supporting them and their families in a lifetime of full inclusion and participation in their communities.
