Shake Shack is opening its first Minnesota location at Mall of America in 2016. The popular burger stand will be located in Culinary on North, the third floor of the recently opened Mall of America expansion.

Shake Shack is a modern day “roadside” burger stand serving a classic American menu of premium burgers, hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries, shakes, frozen custard, beer and wine. With its fresh and simple high-quality food at a great value, Shake Shack is a fun and lively community-gathering place with widespread appeal.

“This is a natural fit for Shake Shack’s first to the market location tapping into more than 40 million annual visitors,” said Liz McLay, SVP of Leasing at Mall of America. “Mall of America is a global retail and entertainment destination, and Shake Shack will be an exciting complement to our growing dining mix.”

The 2,800-square-foot space will open early next summer. Local broker Matt Friday and national broker Scott Muller (both from CBRE) worked with Mall of America to bring Shake Shack to the Twin Cities.

“As we continue to expand, our collection of dining options reflects the developing consumer taste,” said Carrie Charleston, VP of Leasing at Mall of America. “We are focusing on an elevated collection of restaurants, and paying special attention to culinary-inspired, fast-casual, fresh concepts.”

Shake Shack is the latest restaurant to join the dining mix at Culinary on North. Recent announcements include Melt Shop, Disco Fries, Naf Naf Grill and Piada.
