Seward neighborhood art crawl celebrates 14 years this December

WITH A WEEKEND OF FESTIVITIES HIGHLIGHTING LOCAL BUSINESSES
AND THE WORK OF MORE THAN 60 VISUAL ARTISTS

Minneapolis, MN (November 12, 2013) The Seward Winter Frolic: Art in the Hood celebrates 14 years with a weekend of festivities December 6 through 8, 2013.
The weekend kicks off with an evening of food, wine and performances including music, poetry and dance at the Playwrights Center on Friday December 6 from 6:30 9:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit The Seward Neighborhood Group.
The Seward Art Crawl will take place on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 8 from noon to 5 p.m. More than 60 artists will be displaying and selling their work at local art studios, galleries, businesses, churches and home-studios. Art crawlers are invited to frolic at participating businesses by taking advantage of specials and giveaways. All venues are within walking distance throughout the Seward Neighborhood.
Highlights for the weekend include the unveiling of the Seward Gateway Sculpture at Fire Station #7, an art car parade, various performances at art venues and businesses, a tree lighting event at Triangle Park and local food and beverages to be showcased at various locations. Art Car and Bike Parade
10:30am
Parade route begins at Fire Station #7. Spectacle of local art cars and bikes will be lead through
the neighborhood by a fire truck and band organ on a flat bed truck. Free.
Lighting Ceremony
Fire jugglers and other hot performances will light up the park to celebrate a warm community spirit during the cold days of winter.

The Seward Winter Frolic combines the former Seward Art Crawl and the Franklin Frolic celebrating the vibrant artistic, cultural and business communities with support from the Seward Neighborhood Group and the Seward Civic and Commerce Association.

The Seward Neighborhood Group (SNG) is a volunteer-driven organization established in 1960 to make Seward a better place to live, work, and play. It is recognized by the City of Minneapolis as the official citizen participation organization within the boundaries of the Seward neighborhood.
ABOUT THE SEWARD CIVIC AND COMMERCE ASSOCIATION
The Seward Civic and Commerce Association is a nonprofit founded by seven local business owners in 1964. Today, the membership has grown to more than 90 Seward businesses that hold monthly meetings of interest to the needs of its members.
