Request for Proposal Released for the Target Center Renovation Construction Manager
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL The construction manager Request for Proposal (RFP) was released by the City of Minneapolis for the renovation of Target Center. This comes three weeks after the RFP for the architect and engineering firm was released.
This is the next step in the renovation process, and we continue moving forward on this exciting project, said Ted Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. The construction manager firm is critical in helping us keep costs down and ensuring we get the best bang for our buck for our fans.
The RFP is available at www.minneapolismn.gov/finance/procurement/rfp.
Last fall the Timberwolves and Lynx reached an agreement with the City of Minneapolis and AEG Facilities to renovate the 23-year-old facility. Minneapolis will contribute $48.5 million to the project, the Timberwolves and Lynx will pay $43 million and AEG Facilities will pay $5.5 million.
The renovation will include fan experience improvements at all ticket levels, additional clubs and gathering spaces, and better traffic flow.
