Flutter down to the Fairy Festival!
SHAKOPEE, Minn., (Aug. 23, 2013) All Renaissance Festival guests are encouraged to attend our 2nd annual Fairy Festival. Follow the glitter and pixy dust to the Special Events Field to enjoy all things fairy and magical.
We are excited to announce the addition of new activities and entertainment to enjoy during the Fairy Festival, including our first ever Fairy Tea Party hosted by Tiny Diva Princess Parties. Come and mingle with the Festival fairies who will be making guest appearances, while enjoying fairy related crafts and entertainment. Craft options vary from fairy dust pictures to pixie charm necklaces and interactive activities include lily pad races and butterfly games. The Tea Party will take place at 12 and 3pm in the Special Events Field.
Display your inner fairy and flutter your wings in our Fairy Fashion contest. Each day, one adult and one child will be award a prize for best Fairy costume. No fairy costume is complete without a magic wand and no one knows that more than an actual Fairy. "Wand"-er by the Special Events Field and create your very own fairy wand and get help and ideas form one of the magical creatures of the realm.
You can also take a walk through the land of magic and sparkles as competitors of all ages display their fairy houses for competition. Festival patrons can cast their vote for the best house. Prizes will be awarded to the top three houses each day. We will also be featuring vendors who specialize in producing fairy houses, lawn and garden ornaments and related items to enhance your very own fairy garden.
The Minnesota Renaissance Festival 43rd season begins on Saturday, August 17 and ends on September 29, 2013. The Festival is open weekends; Labor Day and Festival Friday, September 27, 2013 open from 9 a.m. 7 p.m., rain or shine. The Festival is located three miles south of Shakopee on Hwy 169.
