MINNEAPOLIS, FEB. 24, 2012--NRG Energy Center Minneapolis LLC has named Michael E. Dwyer, CPM, Director of Sales and Marketing. Previously, Dwyer was Executive Vice President of Real Estate Services for Cushman & Wakefield/Northmarq, the largest commercial real estate firm in the Upper Midwest.

Dwyer joined NRG in November 2011 and is part of the Minneapolis management team. He serves as the primary contact for NRG Minneapolis district energy customers and potential customers, providing guidance for their energy decision-making.

Its great to have Mike on board, says Tom Davison, General Manager of NRG Minneapolis. Our goal is to help customers optimize their energy use. Since Mike knows buildings inside and out, he can work closely with property managers and our engineers to leverage that knowledge to make a real difference when it comes to a buildings energy consumption.

While at Cushman & Wakefield, Dwyer was responsible for 60 million square feet of office, industrial and retail property in 22 markets and 15 states. He oversaw a division of more than 280 property managers, engineers, accountants and support staff. Previously Dwyer was Executive Vice President of Opus Property Services for 13 years, during which the companys property management portfolio grew from eight million square feet to more than 41 million square feet.

Prior to his work at Opus, Dwyer was the General Manager for the IDS Center for seven years.

He is a past President and board member of both the Minneapolis and Kansas City chapters of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and served on the National Advisory Council of BOMA International. He also was on the Real Estate Advisory Board of the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business and the Downtown Minneapolis Light Rail Transit Authority Advisory Committee.

Dwyer graduated from the University of St. Thomas and is a Certified Property Manager.
