MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 14, 2011) - The 2012 Progressive Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show kicks into high gear in its 40th year, introducing another new feature aimed at do-it-yourselfers and boat owners interested in an advanced level of learning Freds Shed. This interactive learning center will host DIY seminars filled with practical, professional advice for those interested in maintaining, repairing or upgrading their boat or engine.

Free, daily seminars and talk-show format clinics at Freds Shed will cover a variety of topics, from fiberglass repair and fuel economy to installing marine electronics and general detailing. Freds Shed courses will be led by The Boating Guy, a life-long angler and boater, and Certified Marine Service Technician Fred, who together bring more than 50 years of boating and wrench-slinging experience to the Shed. Visitors will be able to observe a cutaway boat and motor, participate in hands-on clinics and interactive Q&A sessions.

In addition to Freds Shed, visitors to the Progressive Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show will find hundreds of boats, marine gadgets and accessories for every budget and lifestyle, and have the unique opportunity to view, board and shop models and brands side by side while taking advantage of exclusive show specials and the seasons best deals, plus summer fun for the entire family.
