Tickets go on sale Friday, April 25 for inaugural PBR Blue DEF Velocity Tour

Twin Cities bull riding fans will get the opportunity to experience the toughest sport on dirt when the Professional Bull Riders Blue DEF Velocity Tour bucks into Target Center on Oct. 4, 2014.

During this one-day event, the best up and coming bull riders in the world will face off with foes nearly 10 times their weight in sinewy brawn during the most thrilling 8 seconds in sports. Each rider will challenge at least one of the rankest bulls on the planet. At the end of the competition, the rider with the highest combined score will be crowned the champion.

The action begins Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7:00 pm.

This years event will feature a special opportunity for bull riding fans to get the ultimate fan experience. Select premium seats will include the PBR Corral Party pass where fans will have the opportunity to step onto the worlds toughest playing field and kick up dirt before all the action starts. Fans that purchase the PBR Corral Party pass will get a pre-event meet & greet with some of the best bull riders in the world for autographs and photo opportunities, a chance to learn about a bull riders gear and an up-close look at PBR bulls.

Minneapolis will be the 16th stop on the 2014 Blue DEF Velocity Tour since the tour kicked off in Reno, Nev. on Jan. 18.

Select events will be broadcast on PBR LIVE, a CBS Interactive digital broadcast platform. PBR LIVE is a partnership between the PBR and CBS Interactive, offering more than 100 digital broadcasts annually. The Blue DEF Velocity Tour broadcasts on PBR LIVE represent the first time that PBR fans will be able to view a regular schedule of non-BFTS events, a long-standing request from PBRs passionate fans.

FAST FACTS:

  • 70 tons of dirt is brought in each weekend for a PBR event

  • Over 50 bucking bulls are brought to the event

  • It takes 7 semi trucks to load in all the supplies for the event

  • It takes a crew of 30 guys 36 hours to set up for the show to take place

  • An average PBR bucking bull weighs 1700-2000 lbs.

  • An average bull rider weighs 140 lbs.
