Fans are invited to attend a very special Paisley Park After Dark dance party on the evening of June 22nd – in celebration of the new Prince album Originals, set for wide release June 21st via The Prince Estate and Warner Records. The essential new 15-track album, featuring 14 previously unreleased recordings from Prince’s storied Vault, illuminates the vital, behind-the-scenes role Prince played in other artists’ careers – as a songwriter and producer for artists including The Time, Sheila E, Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, Jill Jones, The Family and more. Attendees to the June 22nd After Dark will have the opportunity to experience a playback of songs from the Originals album in Paisley Park’s Studio B control room – the very place in which Prince recorded and produced countless hits.
Beyond the walls of Paisley Park, the Minnesota Twins will again honor Prince with its third annual Prince Night game at Target Field on Friday June 14th. The special themed event will include a gate giveaway of a purple Prince/Twins Jersey to the first 10,000 fans in attendance. Fans who purchased a theme night package will also receive an exclusive Prince/Twins baseball cap featuring a metallic gold Love Symbol and paisley print under the visor. Echoing Prince’s commitment to music excellence, the National Anthem will be performed by Sounds of Blackness, Minnesota’s own three-time Grammy award-winning group. Prince’s younger brother Omarr Baker will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch and Prince’s original drummer and founding member of the Revolution, Bobby Z, will lead the crowd in “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”.
