POPP Communications Makes Annual Donation to Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation
Minneapolis/St. Paul - The Minnesota Timberwolves and POPP Communications today announced that POPP Communications has donated $5,575 to the Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation as part of the organization's 2011-12 partnership with the Wolves. POPP Communications made a $5 donation to the FastBreak Foundation for every field goal the Wolves scored at Target Center this season. POPP Communications also supports the Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation through Operation Minnesota Heroes and Taste of the Timberwolves.
"We've had a great partnership with the Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation for the past 16 years," said Bill Popp, Chair and President of POPP Communications and Timberwolves minority owner. "Everyone at POPP Communications believes in assisting those in need and the FastBreak Foundation is a great way for us to get involved with the community. Through the years, POPP Communications has donated more than a quarter million dollars to the Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation. POPP Communications, a local Minnesota company, helps business professionals use state-of-the-art communication services and systems to improve their sales and service operations. POPP Communications specializes in voice, Internet and data networks and Toshiba telephone systems.
The Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation provides and supports hands-on programs that positively impact Minnesota youth. Through giving, education and basketball opportunities, the Foundation enables young people to make responsible decisions, contribute to their futures, and experience lifelong memories. In the past year, the Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation and the Minnesota Lynx Foundation have combined to impact 2,028 organizations with $750,000 in in-kind donations, 60,000 Tickets for Kids donations, 4,226 volunteer hours, 45 Heroes in the Making on-court presentations, and fourteen $5,000 grants.
