'Parklets' are making more public space in Minneapolis
Parklets are making more public space in Minneapolis
To make it easier for people to enjoy Minneapolis on foot, three new parklets are now on Minneapolis streets as part of a pilot program. Parklets are temporary public spaces that dedicate portions of streets right next to the curb as expansions of existing sidewalks for the public to stop, relax and enjoy the city. Each parklet has a host business or organization nearby to manage the daily upkeep.
Parklets will be up from spring to fall and can be assembled and disassembled in one day.

The three parklets in the pilot program are at:
- 2007 Emerson Ave. N. hosted by Juxtaposition Arts & Urban Homeworks.
- 212 Third Ave. N. hosted by Martin Patrick 3 & Transwestern at Colonial Warehouse.
- 2451 Nicollet Ave. S. hosted by Spyhouse Coffee.
