Panel Discussion at the Museum of Russian Art on April 24
Attention Artists, Art Theorists, Philosophers, Students and Educators!
Join us at TMORA on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, for an artist-focused lively panel discussion on conceptual art in conjunction with the Museum's current exhibition Concerning the Spiritual in Russian Art, 1965-2011.
Four accomplished local artists with widely varying practicesAlexa Horochowski, Caroline Kent, Ruben Nusz and Marcus Youngwill discuss concept-based approaches in contemporary art, themes of spirituality and censorship, methods of interpretation in conceptual work and more. Drawing from their experiences, they will bring fresh insight into the intricacies of conceptual art, as well as respond to the current exhibition in a discussion geared towards their fellow artist peers. Artists, art students and educators will find this discussion particularly interesting and are encouraged to attend!
The evening will be moderated by Salon Saloon host and MinnPost columnist Andy Sturdevant and TMORAs Curator Dr. Maria Zavialova.
Doors open at 6 P.M. to see the current exhibition and see examples of each panelists work.
Panel discussion from 6:307:30 P.M. An informal Q&A and social hour will follow the discussion.
