Ordway Center for the Performing Arts Presents: Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man
Nov. 18-19, 2016
Saint Paul, Minn. (Sept. 23, 2016) — The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts will present the national tour of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, Nov. 18-19. Tickets for the hilarious romantic comedy, which are on sale now, start at $22 and can be purchased online at www.ordway.org, by phone at 651-224-4222 or in person at the Ordway ticket office.
Written by Matt Murphy and based on the best-selling book of the same title, Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man takes the audience on a hilarious and wild ride where no topic is too taboo and the insider ‘tips’ come straight from the source: a gay man. The play is set at a local university auditorium where the English Department holds its monthly ‘meet the authors’ event. Robyn is the shy and studious moderator of the event and this month’s featured author is Dan Anderson, author of “Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man.” With the help of a hunky stage assistant named Stefan, Dan aims to turn this meet the authors event upside down with a highly theatrical, audience interactive sex tip seminar.
Directed by Tim Drucker, Sex Tips has received adulation from the media with TheaterMania touting “Sex Tips is one of the best date-night shows you'll see this year. Breathlessly entertaining! Uproariously funny! Hysterically titillating!” and Michael Musto for OUT Magazine giving the show, “Two wet thumbs up!” Broadway World calls the show “a night of fun and exhausting laughter that makes you feel good in all the wrong places” and the academics from Columbia Spectator call it “hysterical and better than sex!”
Presented by Matt Murphy and Shawn Nightingale, Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man has scenic design by Luke Cantarella, costume design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Brian Tovar and video and sound design by Randy Blair. For tickets and more information, visit www.ordway.org.
