The Ordway Center presents Night of a Million Stars

Celebrating the history of the McKnight Theatre



SAINT PAUL, MINN.  (April 3, 2013) The Ordway will say farewell to the McKnight Theatre in grand style on Sunday, April 28 at 7:30 pm, in a special performance called, “The Night of a Million Stars.”  The concert production will highlight area artists and feature musical pieces from productions previously held in the McKnight Theatre. 


James A. Rocco, vicepresident of programming and producing artistic director, said the concert will reflect the fond memories and the performance history of the McKnight.  “We’ve had artists calling us to be a part of the farewell concert,” said Rocco.  “We’re delighted that so many have offered to make special plans to be with us.”

The McKnight Theatre will be expanded into a 1,100 seat concert hall and it is expected to open in mid-2015.  Officials from the Arts Partnership (the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Minnesota Opera, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and The Schubert Club) announced the project in December, 2011.
