Mystic Lake to ring in the new year with special NYE performances and events, including SNL greats

PRIOR LAKE October 29, 2013 Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is celebrating the New Year with five nights of special events. Festivities include a casino-wide New York theme with nightly live entertainment on the casino floor from December 27 through December 31, plus local dance band Pop Rocks playing a free show in the Grand Ballroom December 28.
Comedy fans will enjoy a double dose of laughter, with multiple shows at Mystic Comedy Club and in the Mystic Showroom. The fun begins with Chelsea Lately roundtable favorite Chris Franjola performing live stand-up at Mystic Comedy Club December 27, 28 and 29 with opener Brent Terhune.
Next, Live from Mystic Lake . . . Its New Years Eve with SNL Legends Rob Schneider, Tim Meadows & Chris Kattan will feature three of Saturday Night Lives most beloved alumni doing two stand-up shows at 7 and 10 p.m. December 31.
Emmy®-nominated Rob Schneider recently made a return to stand-up after starring in hits such as 50 First Dates, Little Nicky and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. Tim Meadows, whose popular characters include Leon Phelps (The Ladies Man) as well as impressions of OJ Simpson and Sammy Davis, Jr., has starred in numerous films including The Ladies Man, Grown Ups 2, Aliens in the Attic and Semi-Pro. Chris Kattan is best known for characters including Mr. Peepers, Suel Forrester and one half of the Butabi Brothers with fellow SNL cast member Will Ferrell. Kattan appeared in the film A Night at the Roxbury and has been featured in the popular television shows The Middle and How I Met Your Mother.
Food and drink specials with a nod to the Big Apple will be featured throughout the celebration, and floor entertainment will include roving street performers and musicians. On New Years Eve, partygoers will receive free hats and beads, and revelers can take souvenir photos at a complimentary photo booth.
