MYSTIC LAKE ANNOUNCES FREE CONCERT LINEUP
AT THE SECOND ANNUAL GREAT MIDWEST RIB FEST
PRIOR LAKE, Minn. June 30, 2015 The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Joe Diffie, and A Flock of Seagulls will headline three days of free live entertainment at Mystic Lakes second annual Great Midwest Rib Fest, July 24 through 26. The three-day festival will also feature 10 of the countrys top rib cookers competing for $15,000 in prizes, an art festival with dozens of Midwestern artists, and food and drink tents offering specialty sides, desserts and more.
Known for their 1987 smash country hit, Fishin in the Dark, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (NGDB) will kick off Rib Fests first night on Friday, July 24, at 8 p.m. Founded in 1966, NGDB is often credited as a main influence in the country rock music movement. Throughout the years, the band has produced multi-platinum records, created strings of top-ten hits, and earned multiple Grammy and CMA awards and nominations.
Joe Diffie will take the stage Saturday night at 8 p.m. With 12 number-one hits, 20 top-ten singles, and 13 albums to his name, Diffie has been a country music staple for three decades. He is currently working on a new album, due out later this year.
Wrapping up the festival Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., A Flock of Seagulls will bring their sleek synthpop style to Mystic Lake. To this day, A Flock of Seagulls holds the record for number of video plays on MTV for its hit single I Ran (So Far Away). Formed in Liverpool, England, and famous for outrageous hairstyles, A Flock of Seagulls has toured the world since the 1980s.
