MNHS booth in the Education Building
The Minnesota Historical Society is preparing for the kickoff of the Minnesota State Fair! Here’s how visitors can find MNHS at the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
- Enjoy a performance of History-on-a-Schtick!: New last year, this lighthearted romp through Minnesota history is back with not one, but two performances every day. Enjoy everything from Paul Bunyan and Snoopy facing off in a quiz show to a Prince medley. Daily at 9:30 am and 10:10 am in the Schilling Amphitheater in the West End Market.
- Discover fair history on a Minnesota State Fair Walking Tour: This free, self-guided tour has three new stops to explore—the CHS Miracle of Birth Center, 4-H Building and Fairchild the Gopher statue.
- Visit the MNHS booth in the Education Building: Find out about upcoming exhibits, programs and events, grab some MNHS swag and learn about renovations at the State Capitol and expansion at Oliver Kelley Farm. And those who visit eight or more walking tour stops can earn a prize at the booth!
- Cheer on the History Hound: The MNHS mascot, the History Hound, will be in State Fair parade every day at 2 pm.
All events are free with regular Minnesota State Fair admission.
