Prior Lake, Minn. (December 1, 2016) – Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) CEO Ed Soares announced today that the second LFA event will be coming to Minnesota in January. This will be the second LFA event after the strategic merger between leading developmental organizations Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) and Legacy Fighting Championship (Legacy FC). LFA 2 will take place Friday, January 20 at the Mystic Showroom inside the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The entire main card will be televised live and nationwide on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
"I'm excited to bring the LFA to Minnesota in January," stated Soares. "RFA and Legacy FC have hosted nine combined events in the state of Minnesota and the LFA will continue to build on that success starting with LFA 2 on Friday, January 20. Mystic Lake has been a great partner with the RFA and we look forward to continuing that relationship with LFA events moving forward."
Tickets for LFA 2 are available for purchase now on Ticketmaster.com or the Mystic Box Office at 952-496-6563. You can also support your favorite fighter by purchasing your tickets through CageTix.com/LFA.
In September, RFA and Legacy FC officials announced that they would be merging to form the premier developmental organization in Mixed Martial Arts starting in January 2017. RFA and Legacy FC have launched the careers of over 100 athletes that have reached the pinnacle of MMA by competing in the UFC. RFA and Legacy FC have also hosted nine combined events in the state of Minnesota that were televised live and worldwide. Six of those events took place under the RFA banner inside the Mystic Lake Showroom.
Three of Minnesota's top prospects are set to participate at this event after picking up dominant wins in their most recent outings for the RFA.
Chad "Blitz" Curry (8-1) returns to action after impressing many in his welterweight debut at RFA 45 in October. Curry's devastating ground game was on full display as he picked up a TKO victory over Frank Schuman midway through the opening stanza. After gaining a dominant mount position, Curry rained down punishment until the referee called a stop to the action.
Minnesota's top lightweight prospect Bobby Lee (5-0) will also return to his familiar stomping grounds inside the Mystic Lake Showroom. The Brock Larson protégé will look to extend his perfect record to 6-0 just nine days after his 21st birthday. The highly-touted prospect known as "The Ginja Ninja" is currently riding a red-hot win streak. Lee has picked up all five of his wins in the sport since making his pro debut just 12 months ago. Four of those wins took place inside the RFA Octagon.
Ben Neumann (11-4) will also compete on the LFA's debut event in the state of Minnesota after competing for the RFA in his last four bouts. The man known as "The Baker" will look to dish out some more of his signature humble pie on Friday, January 20. Neumann will be riding the momentum of the biggest win of career, which came via second round D'Arce Choke against Jordon Larson at RFA 45.
The LFA 2 fight card and further information regarding this event will be announced soon. LFA 2 will be the promotion's first event to take place in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" (Minnesota). RFA hosted six events in Minnesota and Legacy FC hosted an additional three events in the state before the merger. The entire main card of LFA 2 will be televised live and nationwide on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Friday, January 20, 2017.
